How it works

  1. Tell us about your setup

Call or send the short form: your city, your car, where you park, and your panel size if you know it.

  2. We match one local electrician

We pass your request to one licensed, insured electrician who serves your city. We don't sell it to a list of contractors.

  3. Get a quote, then decide

The electrician confirms details (often from a panel photo), quotes the job, pulls the permit, and installs on your schedule.

Home EV charging services

Most Northern Utah installs are one of these five jobs, or a combination of them.

Tesla Wall Connector, NEMA 14-50 or another Level 2 charger?

Tesla Wall Connector or Universal Wall Connector. Hardwired, up to 48 amps on a 60-amp circuit, and the fastest home option for Teslas. Many 2025 and 2026 non-Tesla EVs now ship with the same NACS (SAE J3400) port, and Tesla's Universal Wall Connector adds a built-in J1772 adapter for older ports.[1]

NEMA 14-50 outlet. A 50-amp, 240-volt receptacle for a portable charger, typically limited to 40 amps of charging. It's flexible if you might move, but it needs an EV-rated receptacle and a correctly protected circuit.

Other Level 2 chargers. ChargePoint, Emporia, Wallbox, Grizzl-E and others, hardwired or plug-in. The right amperage depends on your car's onboard charger and your panel's spare capacity.

What changed for Utah EV chargers in 2026

The home charger tax credit only applies to equipment placed in service by June 30, 2026, and only in eligible census tracts.[5]

Cheap overnight power still pays

On Rocky Mountain Power's Schedule 1 time-of-use option, off-peak energy is about 6.6¢ to 7.5¢ per kWh before surcharges. On-peak is 6 to 10 p.m. on weekdays.[6]

What does EV charger installation cost in Northern Utah?

Utah electricians publish typical installed prices of roughly $500 to $2,500 for a straightforward Level 2 install, with about $1,400 a common middle.[7][8] Long runs, trenching, subpanels or a 200-amp service upgrade push the total higher.[9]

Quick answers

Do I need a permit to install an EV charger in Utah?

Yes. A new 240-volt circuit is permitted electrical work, inspected by your city or, in unincorporated areas like Eden, by Weber County. The licensed electrician pulls the permit.

Will I need a panel upgrade?

Not always. A load calculation shows whether your existing service can handle the charger. Lower-amperage settings or a load-management device often avoid a full upgrade. More on panel upgrades.

Are you the electrician?

No. We are a referral service that connects you with an independent, licensed, insured electrician. They quote and do the work.
